OLWO

OLWO is a central production, trading and service company in the Swiss timber industry. OLWO’s marketing department manages more than 28,000 items and produces a price list in the form of a catalog of over 500 pages.

With Contentserv’s PIM solution, OLWO can automate the production of the catalog, communicate updates and price changes much faster in the market and promptly transfer all product data to other channels such as the flip catalog, the web store or the BIM platform buildup.

Before the introduction of the first PIM solution, the price list was compiled manually in a time-consuming process. It was only possible to react to changes, market volatility and adjustments by the manufacturers of third-party products once a year at most. After the end-of-life of the first two PIM solutions, the price list production process was finally migrated to Contentserv. The new PIM solution was to cover various requirements:

  • Complete automation of the entire price list based on centrally maintained product information
  • Automatic export to the webshop
  • Connection to the Navision ERP system
  • iPaper export to the daily generated flip page catalog with links to the web shop
  • BIM export of all products to buildup

Over 28,000 items from OLWO and its suppliers are now centrally maintained and enriched in the solution. As a “single source of truth”, the PIM solution provides all product information centrally and at the touch of a button. The technical implementation of the price list is now a matter of minutes. The company can not only provide its customers with the printed price list, but also a digital flip catalog with daily updated prices and links to the web store. The web store and the BIM platform buildup are also supplied directly from the PIM.

OLWO has thus established leaner processes and realized major time savings in the production of price lists and the maintenance of the various channels. Thanks to new sales tools such as the flip catalog and web store, OLWO can now communicate price changes to the market much more quickly and has been able to realize new sales potential. And as the solution is constantly evolving, there is also further potential for optimization in the future, for example through the new AI functions in Contentserv to automate the maintenance and creation of product information.

The solution was implemented by Stämpfli Kommunikation for OLWO and has been supported and further developed by aclevion since 2023.
